Professor Lakshman Samaranayake, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong and the Director of the Prince Philip Dental Hospital, Hong Kong, was conferred the Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka on October 26, 2005.
