The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Academy of Mathematics and System Sciences (AMSS), 中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院, under the aegis of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS),中国科学院, set up the Joint Research Institute on January 20, 2006. The Institute aims at promoting research collaboration and technical exchange on engineering and management mathematics.
