This news mentioned that the Hong Kong Polytechnic University has invented a new fabric, which can clean by itself and disintegrate as dust. The textile scientists, Prof. John Xin and Dr Walid Daoud from the Institute of Textiles and Clothing of PolyU made use of nano-technology to develop a special fabric which can be made into self-cleaning clothes.
