Using Blogging To Promote Student Centered Learning

Introduction
Web logs (blogs) are an excellent tool for knowledge organization and reflection. They are also a convenient and powerful tool for an individual to do personal publishing and stay connected with the world.
I will integrate blogging into my teaching of Software Engineering and Project Management, starting from October 2005. My students are expected to keep a personal blog that related to their studies of Software Engineering. I will not pose any constraints on students’ posts. Nevertheless, from time to time, I will direct them to write something interesting or give them some questions to think about.

To students of Software Engineering and Project Management: I will detail all the basic knowledge about blogs and blogging in the first tutorial class. After the class, you are expected to create a personal blog if you do not have one. Then, please let me know how you think about integrating blogging in this course. Hello, THis is the first lesson tutorial class for this subject, acturally I have write a xanga as my blog for quite a long time(half year….), it’s quite intesting to crate and use the blog to share what the feeling for the daily life, I think it’s a breakthrough to use the blog as an platform to teach and learn there!

I always think that a blog is a personal diary for yelling only. Now I understand why blogging become so famous and popluar. It is also inovative to study in this way.

Hey.. hey… hey… what’s up everyone…. well this post is for replying back Steven about creating our own blog for our class in school…. Well I think that using Blog can really keep the students on track and that the Prof. himself can get to know the students more in class or in our daily lives…. It also gives the students the ability to communicate with other fellow students in class…….

Similarly to the other students, I thought the blog thingy was just for fun and leisure purpose.
After viewing Steven’s blog and clicked into the lifehack section, I’ve found what I really liked. The contents in the lifehack section seems to be some sort of self-help method in many different aspects, with people all over the net sharing their thoughts and forwarding interesting articles. Blogging is a nice way to form a community of the same interests and to share information effectively.
For educational purpose, personally I prefer having discussion face to face, but blog does have its benefits. Most of the time we can give better arguments and statements after deep thinking. Besides, we guys may also make use of the blog to get closer, as the atmosphere in class is somewhat strange for now…. Everyone is shy, it’s happening on me too

It is pleased to meet all of you here.
I got a blog last year for the reporting uses. As I find it user friendly and convenience to communicate with others.
This is my fresh try of blogging for the education purpose. AS the web introduced the new convenience track back or feed functions are well to enhance cross-site conversations and build community.
On the other hand, I think it is an appropriate method for monitoring the class activities on web. May be it could help to avoid idle. (Ha. Ha. Just a joke)
