Do you know you have many choices?
The OSSwin Project brings together all of the Open Source applications that work on the Microsoft Windows platform.
I have good experience with and enjoy the following, at least,
- Mozilla browser and email client (Firefox and Thunderbird)
- OpenOffice (the alternative to MS Office)
- AbiWord (alternative to MS WOrd)
- PDF Creator
- The GIMP
